The AA (Anesthesiologist Assistant) Chili Cook Off Competition for Lifebox is a peer-to-peer fundraiser that brings together healthcare providers, anesthesiologist assistant students, local businesses and communities to raise funds for Lifebox’s safe anesthesia programs, including distributing Smile Train-Lifebox Capnographs and Lifebox pulse oximeters.
Funds are raised through admission tickets, team fees, raffles, auctions, sponsorships, and peer-to-peer fundraising. More information on how to run your event and raise funds can be found in the Chili Cook Off Guide below.
The Competition
All anesthesiologist assistant programs are invited to join this fun way to raise funds for safe anesthesia worldwide!
Let’s see which Anesthesiologist Assistant program can raise the most money! All events running between AAAA Annual Meetings will be up against each other to raise as many funds as possible. The winner will be announced at an online event, date tbd.

History of the Chili Cook Off
When Lifebox was founded in 2011, South University began fundraising to help support Lifebox’s work. A few years later, South University hosted their first Chili Cook Off for Lifebox. South University has hosted a Chili Cook Off every year since – raising critical funds for Lifebox’s anesthesia work while also bringing students and faculty together to have some fun.
In the past couple of years, numerous schools have joined South University in raising funds for Lifebox through Chili Cook Off events, including Emory University, Indiana University, Case Western Reserve University, Northeast Ohio Medical University, and Ohio Dominican University.
