ASEAN Anaesthesia
The 19th ASEAN Congress of Anaesthesiology (ACA) opens today, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia – and thanks to friends both local and in the region, Lifebox is proud to play a part.
We know that education is essential for safer surgery, and that local leadership inspires long-term change.
The Indonesian Society of Anaesthesiologists and Intensive Therapy is working with the Australian Society of Anaesthesiologists to do just that, starting with a Lifebox workshop at the ACA.
Their goal: to raise the safety and quality of anaesthesia and surgery through use of pulse oximetry and the World Health Organization (WHO) Surgical Safety Checklist.
Anaesthesiologists with an interest in patient safety, especially those in remote areas, are encouraged to join faculty for a ‘train the trainers’ opportunity. With an understanding of how to use the Lifebox education materials, and talk about the WHO Checklist, doctors will be able to bring these vital safety concepts into their own operating theatres – with oximeters to follow.
Date: Thursday, August 27th
Time: 12:30pm – 3:30pm
We can’t wait to hear how this week goes!
