Lifebox congratulates Dr. Atul Gawande, the surgical and anesthesia safety organization’s Chair and Co-founder, on his appointment to the Biden-Harris Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board. The surgeon, professor, healthcare leader, and best-selling author joins leading public health and scientific experts to advise the Biden-Harris Transition on the COVID-19 response.

As Chair, Dr. Gawande has overseen Lifebox’s COVID-19 response, which has worked to support healthcare providers around the world in providing safe surgical and COVID-19 care during the pandemic, distributing 6,500 pulse oximeters across 38 countries alongside technical guidance. Dr. Gawande has also been working on the United States’ COVID-19 response through his work with Ariadne Labs, of which he is also Chair.
