"The Right to Heal" will screen at Lifebox Day
Global surgery is about logistics. It’s about science and technology. But most of all, above everything else, it’s about people.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that “The Right to Heal“, a new film about global surgery advocacy which puts the spotlight directly on patients, healthcare workers and the painful, powerful reality of what it means to lack access to essential surgery, will be screened at Lifebox Day on January 18th, 2014.
“GoldenHour Films LLC, brings us compelling storytelling and beautiful images of people affected by disabilities that are easily treatable, such as cleft lip and clubfoot, and women affected by the consequences of not having timely, safe, and appropriate cesarean section resulting in fistulas, the appalling life they are submitted to, physically and socially, and those who are disabled for life as a result of little or no access to essential surgical care.”
This is only the second time the film has screened in the U.K. and we’re delighted to welcome its director and executive producer Dr Jaymie Henry to the Camden People’s Theatre. She’ll be talking about the development, the stories and the campaign behind the narrative.
The Lifebox Day programme is packed with opportunities for conversation, practical action and first hand reports from the frontline of global surgery. Don’t miss this opportunity to find out how you can get involved in the global health challenge of the decade. Email [email protected] to register.
