COVID-19 Surgical Patient Checklist Workshop

The COVID-19 Surgical Patient Checklist is aimed at multidisciplinary surgical teams performing surgery in the time of COVID-19. The workshop supports surgical teams to use the COVID-19 Checklist – performing key infection prevention strategies that keep the surgical team and patient safe. The training is a two-day modular training for a total of four hours, including simulation. 

Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
1. Identify the risks posed to the operating room team by a surgical patient presenting to the OR with COVID-19
2. Explain the components of the COVID-19 surgical checklist and how it can help to minimize risk to the operating room team.
3. Adapt the COVID-19 checklist for local use
4. Practice using the COVID-19 checklist and plan for challenges with implementation
